To the stupid, fat woman in LA who stared at me and told me "I don't want to talk to you!" in front of the stupid Kohl's when I politely tried to ask about directions: fuck you too! I sincerely hope you will have the worst Christmas ever!

Winter time, gardens are gone

In Clemens Garden I saw them taking down the flowers because winter time is approaching.

It is always beautiful and sad. Those poignant whispering and wishful goodbye.

The Reasons Why I hate The Hunger Games

I am seriously wondering why The Hunger Games movie is so popular in United States, and people are so looking forward to watch the second movie.

OK, I am a foreigner, and I haven't read the book before. But the truth is, the movie itself sucks. I don't even want to take a look at the book after I've watched the movie.

And the movie rated 7.2 on IMDb. Seriously?? The movie is just another Twilight Movie with the disguise of serious topics such as humanity and politic metaphor (maybe?) But the humanity in this movie doesn't make sense at all!! Or does the movie even show any humanities? All the people are doing crazy and stupid things trying to kill each other while the audiences (such as me) can't even feel the necessity to do it.

And what is wrong with the girl???? So she keeps holding her feelings to herself with only her eyes looking around warily and expect all the audiences to know how she feels?? I've never felt so irritated while seeing all the characters in the movie merely react according to what the plot needs instead of behaving more like a logical human being. And all those seemingly talented bad guys turned out to be just a bunch of fools who just can't stop chasing Katniss.

I don't know how many American people have seen the Japanese movie Battle Royale. When I first saw The Hunger Games, the movie setting reminds me a lot of Battle Royale. The difference is that, Battle Royale did such a great job in depicting humanities under that particular situation and the relationship between two generations. Of course Battle Royale is not a PG-13 movie. But if you really want to put up something serious, you do have to dedicate more to the topic instead of stuffing everything you find popular among youngsters into the movie and make it awkwardly nondescript.

The end of Fall, everything is falling

Took some pictures of me standing next to a golden color tree with half of its tree leaves gone.

I love the season of Fall at where I live now. It has beautiful colors that are gradually changing in a harmonious order. Even at this point of time when everything starts to wither, it still shows a combination of golden age vitality and end of the season loneliness.

I wore my newly arrived clothes out to take these pictures. Thought it would be a good match to the weather with a golden color jacket and a plaid dress with ragged style. Though the style and my idea are not so clearly shown in my pictures due to my poor self-photographing technique, I'm still satisfied with the pictures since they do a good job expressing my impressions of Fall emotion.

A Renewed Story of Superman

Just watched Man of Steel in the theater of my university today, though I wasn't a fan of Superman. As long as Christopher Nolan's name shows on the screen, it is a must-see to me.

I have to say that overall it is a good movie. As an introductory part of a new Superman series, it gives out some good features that make me looking forward to the sequels. But also because of the same reason that it is a start of a renewed Superman story, the movie has been assigned to provide too much background information within 2 hours. This fact has made the pace of the movie hard to manage.

I guess that is why the movie proceeds in a somewhat disordered way. The pace is too fast that it lacks the basic interestingness and entertainment as a super hero movie. The transitions between plots are not fluent and convincing enough to bring me, as an audience, into the following situations. Also the role of Louis fits in weirdly. It seems that she had committed a lot to the process of following the myth of Clark, and then all of a sudden she chose to believe in and support him without giving a reason that is strong enough for the audiences to follow.

I like Amy Adams as an actress. She's got a lot of great performances in movies. But this movie hasn't given her enough space to show her talent. All they need is a seemingly wise girl with eyes filled with beliefs and tears, who are always standing there helping and comforting Superman.

Except all the imperfections, I do love the fighting parts of the movie and that it gives plenty of time for the characters to fight. All of them are basically dropping and throwing everything they have (including themselves) to make explosions and strikes. There are some very nice pictures during the fight between Superman and Zod too.

Into Galaxy

Recently bought a new pair of galaxy leggings. Just love them! The length is perfect since I'm not very tall. They look cool with all kinds of platform shoes and Marten boots.

About Star Trek: Into Darkness

The new Star Trek movie has scenes and special effects even better than the first one. It is an amazing experience sitting in the theatre and watching it in 3D.

However, the story of the second one is much less impressive compare to the first Star Trek movie.

The first Star Trek movie is always one of my favourites. The story is funny, fine structured, and highly integrity. Compare to the good qualities of the first one, the second Star Trek movie has a pretty annoying story line. The structure of the story is weird, the rhythm is off, and the characteristics of the new characters are pale.

I'm a fan of Benedict Cumberbatch, but the bad guy he played in this movie is disappointing. He looks so strong and scheming when he first comes out, but turns out to be so lame in the end of the movie. It even makes more sense to let him convert into a good guy and leave all the guilt to Marcus. The transition of the character is just too stiff and not convincing enough.

But anyway, the fightings are cool. It is still funny and exciting to see those old crew members from the first movie teasing with each other again.

Warm sunshine and going out for fun!

Seriously, the weather in Minnesota is killing me!

After an extremely long depressing winter, the temperature finally starts to warm up.

But no spring! We've gone right into the summer!

I've always been longing for some mild temperatures since I am such a fan of layering up clothes. But unfortunately, the places I've ever been to are either too warm or too cold.

Now I guess it's the last chance for me to wear my sweaters out to take some nice pictures before the weather gets too warm.

Snow Patrol - Fallen Empires

Snow Patrol is always one of my favourites.

I fell in love with their new album as always. Or maybe the album is not that new. I used to collect a whole lot of CDs as crazy, but the pace has been slowed down. I haven't paid too much attention to CD market for a while. After the Sigur Ros concert in St Paul, I picked up my little hobby again, and have found some really nice CDs ever since.

<Fallen Empire> is one of those best collections. The music is still my favourite type -- exquisite, beautiful, and stimulating.

The new album in some way reminds me of <Eyes Open>, which is until now my favourite album of theirs. The difference is that, the new album sounds more grand and magnificent. The music is so exciting and stirring, it fills up my room with miraculous heat every time I play it.

I'm pretty sure this album will be another long lasting collection of mine.

Midnight Premier for Iron Man 3

Went to watch the Iron Man 3 tonight. It was an excitement to watch it in the theatre, but I still need to give a second thought to decide whether I could give it a high comment or not.

Honestly speaking, it's not as good as the first one, but much better than the second one.

I think there are different versions of the movie for United States and Mainland China. I've seen the preview for the Chinese version Iron Man 3, there suppose to be 2 famous Chinese players staring in this movie. But in the movie I've watched tonight, one of them only showed up for several seconds, and the other one was not shown at all. This makes me kind of disappointed. Because once a movie has made a second version for China, this version won't be too good. The authorities get in the way, and always cut the movie into some kind of garbage.

Spring Color

The temperature starts to pick up recently. I hope this is a good sign showing an end to the exhausting long winter we've struggled through in Minnesota.

I've been longing for some spring colors ever since the beginning of March. Now I could finally put up some of them to cheer myself up.
